Chocolate Eclair Torte

Ingredients

  • CRUST: FROSTING:
  • 1 cup water 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup flour 3 Tbsp milk
  • 4 eggs 1 tsp vanilla
  • FILLING:
  • 2 pkg instant french vanilla pudding
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 12oz cool whip

Preparation

Step 1

CRUST: In a medium sauce pan, combine water, butter and salt. Bring to a boil, until butter melts. Remove from heat add flour, stir until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Spread into a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 400 for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool, cut crust in half (so there's a top and bottom).

FILLING: In a mixing bowl, combine pudding, milk, and vanilla, beat together until thick, add cool whip. Spread over bottom crust, then put top crust on. Pour frosting over top crust.

FROSTING: Melt butter, chocolate, and milk together (in microwave or stove top), then add vanilla and powdered sugar, stir until blended. Pour over crust. Keep refrigerated.
