Ingredients
- 2 750-ml bottles fruity red wine
- 1/2 cup cream Sherry
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons loose chai tea
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 4 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
- 4 star anise pods, plus more for garnish
- 2 orange slices
- 1 4" knob ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise, seeds scraped
- 8 orange twists, (for serving)
Preparation
Step 1
Combine wine, Sherry, sugar, chai tea, caraway seeds, 4 cinnamon sticks, 4 star anise pods, 2 orange slices, ginger and vanilla bean in a large pot. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Let steep for one hour. Strain and divide among mugs; garnish with cinnamon stick, star anise pod and orange twist.
