Cardamom Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups basmati rice
  • 4 tablespoons ghee
  • 6 cardamom pods, top split open
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 cups water

Preparation

Step 1

1. Soak basmati in water 30-60 mins. Drain.

2. Saute cardamom in ghee with cumin 1 min. Add rice. Cook 2-3 mins. Reduce heat. Cook 2-3 mins.

3. Add salt and water. Bring to boil. Cover and simmer 12 mins. Take off heat. Let sit 6-8 mins.
