Peppermint Candy Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 3 c. heavy cream
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 36 About 36 hard peppermint candies

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl, combine cream and sugar until sugar dissolves. Add vanilla. Allow to chill in refrigerator for at least 3 hours and up to 8 hours. Freeze ice cream according to manufacturer's instructions. While ice cream is churning, either chop peppermints in your food processor or put them (unwrapped) in a large Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. When ice cream has the consistency of thick whipped cream, add in peppermint candies. Churn just until mixed and then transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for a minimum of 3 hours. Makes 1 quart.
