GLAZED APPLE TART

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons or margarine
  • 8 tart apples, peeled and quartered
  • 3-1/2 " tart shells
  • 3/4 About 3/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • Whipped cream

Preparation

Step 1

In large skillet cook and stir sugar, orange juice, water and butter over low heat until smooth. Cut each apple quarter lengthwise into 4 slices, add to butter mixture and cook over low heat, basting, and turning apples often, until tender and translucent but still shapely, about 15 minutes. Cool slightly and arrange neatly in shells. Heat marmalade with brandy over low heat until clear part is melted, spoon over apples. Chill, serve with whipped cream. Makes 20 tarts.
