BAKED CUSTARD

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • Nutmeg or mace

Step 1

Standard Recipe:

Pour milk into 2-cup measuring cup or small bowl. Microwave on high 3-4 minutes, until hot but not boiling. Blend sugar, salt and vanilla into eggs lightly. Stir mixture into milk. Pour into 4 6 oz. custard cups. Sprinkle with nutmeg or mace. Arrange in oven in ring. Microwave at 50% medium power for 6-10 minutes. Rotate and rearrange cups every 2 minutes, until set. If custard starts to bubble or appears set, remove those that are baked.
