Ingredients
- Melt 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 cups flour in measuring cup, tap twice and level off
- 4 teasp. baking powder
- 1/4 teasp. baking soda
- 3/4 teasp. kosher salt
- 4 Tbsp. (1/2 stick) cold butter-diced
- 3 Tbsp. cold shortening-diced
Preparation
Step 1
Using paddle attachment on electric mixer, mix butter and shortening together on low speed adding flour add buttermilk and combine just until mixed. Add more flour if too wet or add more buttermilk if too dry.
Knead just until smoothe and pat into 1/2 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter and put on parchment lined baking sheet.
Brush biscuit tops with melted butter
Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.
