Sparkling Garnet Punch

Ingredients

  • 1 (2-3 lb) bunch seedless green grapes
  • 3 qts cranberry juice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 whole allspice
  • 3 sm cinnamon sticks
  • 5 (16-oz) bottles club soda, chilled
  • 3 drops almond extract

Preparation

Step 1

Day Before:
Freeze grapes in one bunch on cookie sheet, overnight.

In large kettle, combine cranberry juice, sugar, allspice and cinnamon. Heat to boiling; then simmer 10 minutes; stain, discarding spices. Refrigerate overnight to chil.

Just Before Serving:
Place frozen grapes in bottom of large punch bowl. Add cranberry mixture, club soda and almond. Serve immediately.
