Ingredients
- 6 oz. semi-sweet morsels
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 cup + 2 tbs. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 3 (8 oz.) pkg. of cream cheese (room temp.)
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 6 eggs (separated)
- 1 cup of sour cream
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Melt chocolate in a double boiler. Combine 3/4 cup of flour, 2 tbs. sugar and salt. Cut in butter until particles are fine. Stir in 2 tbs. chocolate, presss into the bottom of spring form pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Soften cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar and blend 1/4 cup flour and vanilla. Add egg yolks and beat well. Blend in sour cream. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into cheese mixture, well. Combine the remaining chocolate with the 1 3/4 cups of cheese mixture. Pour 1/2 of the mixture over baked crust. Top with spoonfulls of 1/2 the chocolate mixture. Cover with the remaining mixture, then chocolate and cut thru to marbalize. Place in 400 degree oven and immediately turn to 300 degrees. Bake for 1 hour. Turn off and keep in the oven 1 hour more. Chill at least 8 hours. Cut with wet knife.
