Harvard Beets

A tasty veggie dish with sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, salt and beets. This recipe is from my greatgrandmother, she passed it to my mother, then on to me. Enjoy

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
- salt to taste
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 can 14 oz sliced (or any cut) beets with reserved juice

Preparation
Step 1
In sauce pan combine sugar and cornstarch stir together until
smoothe. To the dry mixture add 1/4 cup white vinegar along with the beet juice from the can.
Stir constantly until the mixture thickens (to gravy consistancy)
add the beets and salt continue to stir until the beets are hot.
If you don't stir the sugar will burn
