Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 large cans whole tomatoes
  • 2 large cans puree
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 3 T olive oil
  • 1/2 c white cooking wine
  • 3 T parmesan
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp diced basil

Preparation

Step 1

In large kettle, saute onion till soft. Add garlic and slowly saute 30 seconds, don't burn the garlic. Add tomatoes mixing thoroughly. Add wine, cheese, water and spices. Cook over low heat stirring constantly for 2 hours.

Serve over pasta or use for haddock marinara.
