Ingredients

  • 3 cups lukewarm water
  • 4 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • honey

Preparation

Step 1

Add yeast salt, sugar mixture and water in large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes. Dough will be thin. Add flour and beat well with a wooden spoon. Cover with wax paper and let rise till triple in bulk, about 1-1 1/2 hours. It's not necessary for it to rise that long. Drop by T into hot oil (deep fryer). Oil should be at least 1 inch deep. Turn over when golden color on one side and continue with the other. Remove to rack and cool slightly. Dip in honey and turn to coat.
