This is another recipe that I first learned of at the tea shop where I work & help out occasionally. Everything served there is SO tasty.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2

    C sugar

  • 3

    eggs

  • 1/2

    C veg. oil

  • 3

    C all purpose flour

  • 2

    tsp. vanilla

  • 2 1/2

    C diced apples

  • Topping:

  • 3/4

    C butter

  • 2

    C brown sugar

  • 1/4

    C milk

Directions

1. Lightly grease and flour 13x9" baking pan. 2. Preheat oven to 350. 3. Cream together sugar, eggs, and oil. Add flour; mix together until well blended; Add vanilla, nuts, and diced apples. 4. Spread into pan; bake for 45 min. to 60 min. cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 5. When cake is done, punch holes in it with a knife and pour topping over it. 6. For topping, heat all ingredients together over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; let boil for about 2 min. Pour over warm cake.
