Pear & Chocolate Crumble

This is a simple but delicious dessert, nice with white chocolate chips as well as dark chocolate ones.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 ripe pears
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 100 g chocolate chips
  • 100 g flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 75 g butter, chilled and diced

Preparation

Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees. Peel, core and chop pears. Combine them with the brown sugar and half of the chocolate chips. Divide the mixture between 4 ramekins or heatproof tea cups (if using), or place in a pyrex dish.

Mix flour, sugar and the butter until it resembled coarse crumbs. Stir in the remaining chocolate chips. Cover the pear mixture with the flour mix and press down lightly. Place ramekins onto a baking tray and bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden and bubbling. Serve with custard, ice cream or yogurt.
