Strawberry Rhubarb Compote

  • 4 lbs cooking apples,peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 3 stalks rhubarb,chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbs vanilla sugar
  • 1 3oz. package strawberry jello powder



Step 1

Boil 2 cups of water in a large pot. Add sugar and rhubarb and cook on a medium flame for 10 min.
Add apples,cover and cook on low for about 10 min, Add strawberries and vanilla sugar and cook about 15 min more.
Remove from flame and pour in strawberry jello powder and mix thoroughly,until dissolved. Cool completely before storing. Serve chilled
