Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak, 1/2 inch thick
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can Campbell's Beef Consomme'
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1-2 teaspoons Kitchen Bouquet Browning & Seasoning sauce (optional, for color)
- 2 fresh green, yellow, orange or red pepper strips
- 1 shredded carrot
- 1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
- 4 cups hot cooked regular long-grain white rice, cooked without salt (or Minute Rice Ready to Serve)
Preparation
Step 1
Slice beef into very thin strips. Mix cornstarch, consommé, water, soy sauce, garlic, oyster sauce, tomato sauce, & Kitchen Bouquet.
Stir-fry beef in skillet with a little oil until browned and juices evaporate.
Add peppers carrot and onion, stir. Pour cornstarch mixture over and stir. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens.
Serve over rice.
