MULLING SPICE BAG

I don't remember where I got this recipe. Probably from either The Rosemary House in Mechanicsburg, PA or out of The Patriot News

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lemon zest - or 1/2 cup dried
  • 12 cinnamon Sticks, broken
  • 2 TBS whole cloves
  • 2 TBS whole allspice
  • 3 tsp. anise seeds, crushed

Preparation

Step 1

If using fresh lemon zest, bake same in oven at 225F until dry - about 2 hrs.
Then, break into 1/4-inch pieces. Crush cinnamon sticks. Combine cloves, allspice, anise seeds with cinnamon sticks and lemon peel. Put 2 TBS mixture in center of muslin bag and tie with string or fill tea bags.
