Rum Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light cream
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 2-3 Tsp. rum or bourbon (to taste, depending how strong you like the taste)
  • dash of nutmeg

Preparation

Step 1

In double boiler, mix butter, sugar and cream together. Cook, stiring for approx. 10-15 minutes or until slightly thick.

Refrigerate until ready to serve. Stir and warm up over low heat until mixture is melted. Add vanilla, rum and dash of nutmeg.

Great over any type of apple, zuchinni cake.
