Ingredients
- 2 pound ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped (1 cup)
- 2 cans (15.5 ounces each) original sloppy joe sauce
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
- 2 cups Original Bisquick® mix
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 400º. Cook beef and onions in ovenproof 12-inch skillet over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in sloppy joe sauce. Sprinkle with cheese.
Stir remaining ingredients until blended. Pour over beef mixture. If skillet is not ovenproof, cover handle with aluminum foil.
Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Betty’s Tip
For a change of pace, use 2 pounds of bulk pork sausage or ground chicken or turkey instead of the ground beef. As a time-saver, use 1 cup frozen chopped onion or 1/4 cup instant minced onion instead of the fresh onion. Garnish this easy supper with slices of crisp, juicy apples.
