Ingredients
- 1 scant cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp salt - or to taste
- 1 cup all bran (optional)
- 1-1/2 cups boiling water
- 2 packets yeast (4-1/2 tsp total)
- 1/2 cup tepid water
- 2 eggs - well-beaten
- 6 cups flour

Preparation
Step 1
Mix shortening, sugar, salt, all bran (if using) and boiling water. Let cool till tepid.
Mix yeast with tepid water. Add into first mixture along with eggs.
Mix in the flour, and let it all sit at least six hours before using.
Form into rolls. Place about 1 inch apart in large cake pan. Let rise till double and bake in 375F oven till brown - about 20 minutes
