  • Vanilla Sauce:
  • 3 Tbs. Butter, melted
  • 1 Loaf Bread
  • 3 Cups Chopped Apples
  • 7 Eggs
  • 2 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 3 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Raisins
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Cup Cold Water
  • 1 Tbs. Butter
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Pour butter into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Combine bread cubes, apples, and raisins; sprinkle over butter. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla; pour over bread. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Vanilla Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and water until smooth. Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter. Serve with warm bread pudding.
