Ingredients

  • 1/3 Cup Shortening (part butter)
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1/3 Cup Butter, melted
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp/ Cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Grease bottom of muffin cups. Mix shortening, 1/2 cup sugar, and egg thoroughly. Blend flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Stir in alternately with milk. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. Immediately when removed from oven, roll in melted butter, then mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Serve hot. Yield: 12 muffins.
