BARBEQUE SAUCE & RUB (THE SHED)

Ingredients

  • DRY RUB:
  • 8 oz. package dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • SAUCE:
  • 2-1/3 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 - 15 oz.a can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning blend
  • 2 tablespoons beer
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cover meat with rub ingredients and refrigerate 90 minutes.

Sauce:

In a large saucepan stir together all ingredients, bring to boiling. Reduce heat and keep at a very low simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Makes 3 cups.
