Brazil Nut Butter Crunch

Ingredients

  • 1 pound butter
  • 2 cups finely chopped 0r grounded brazil nuts
  • 2 6 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate morsels or 1-12 ounce package ( 2 cups )
  • 2 cups sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Use 1 tablespoon butter to grease 15x10 inch pan spreable pan evenly with 1 cup brazil nuts. Put butter in 2 1/2 qt saucepan melt over low heay. Add sugar-put candy thermometer in pan. Stir moderate heat until mixture becomes a pale carmel color and reaches 300F. about 11 minutes. Remove from heat-spoon evenly over chocolate and nuts. Scatter the remaining 1 cup of chocolate morsels over the carmel when melted. about 4 minutes-spread with back of teaspoon over entire surface sprinkle with the nuts. Chill until chocolate in firm. Break into pieces yields 3 1/2 dozen
