Popovers

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 3/4 cup Shortening
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Drizzle frosting
  • 1 cup Powder Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cream Flour, Sugar, salt, and Shorteniing.
Mix together egg, vinegar and water.
Add egg mixture to creamed ingredients
Chill for 1/2 hour
Roll out and cut to size wanted for popover.
Fill center with and flavored pie filling
Fold over and pinch edges
Bake @ 375 for 10-15 minutes.

when cool may drizzle with powder Sugar frosting
