  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

Directions
1.Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).

2.Combine sugar and rhubarb in medium sauce pan. Heat to boiling then reduce heat. In small cup combine flour and small amount of water until consistency of thin paste. Stir into rhubarb mixture. Cook until thick, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. When thick, pour into prepared pie crust. Dot with small pieces of butter. Cover with top crust. Make vents in top crust. Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar.

3.Place pie on lowest rack in oven. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking for 30 to 35 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
