Sweet'n Sour Top Chops

The sauce for these grilled chops should be prepared several hours or overnight before grilling.
Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 2 T. soy sauce
- 1 T. worchestershire sauce
- 1 c. vinegar
- 3 c. pineapple juice
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 t. liquid smoke (optional)
- 4- 10 medium thickness center cut pork chops

Step 1
Cook over low heat til clear and thickened, stirring constantly. If desired, add pineapple chunks, green pepper, onion the last 3-4 minutes.
Place pork chops in large bowl. Pour marinade(note that 7-Up is added to the sauce to make the marinade)over them. Cover and chill several hours or overnight. Marinade: Use 1 cup of sauce and 3 cups 7-Up or Sprite. Mix well.
Barbeque chops over medium-hot coals for about 10 minutes--do no overcook! Season the chops with garlic salt and black pepper. Turn chops only once. Baste chops generously with sauce. Heat the remaining sauce and serve hot with chops.
