Expert Tips:
Use your own blend of seasoning spices, if you desire. For example, seasoned salt, Italian seasoning or grilling herbs work well to flavor meat and potato dishes like this one.
To shorten prep time even more, make the filling ahead of time and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until time to assemble and bake.

We had this tonight for dinner. Very quick and easy to prepare. The hard part was waiting for it to bake while smelling the delicious smell. I did spice up the beef by adding Worcestershire and some basic herbs. Instead of adding 3 cups of potatoes, I cut back and added some frozen mixed veggies instead. Next time I'm going to give it a try with some white country gravy!
I made this tonight. It is fabulous. If you are a meat potatoes person this casserole is for you. Next time I am going to add some water chestnuts just for a little crunch.
I apologize I need to correct my review on the changes I made. I used homestyle can veggies plus I used ground sirloin instead of ground beef and I left out the onion due to onions were in the mix veggies.
I made this with a few changes but it still came out delicious to everyone. I used homestyle can veggies due to I wanted more veggies that was the only change and I will be making again. Thanks for sharing.
We love this recipe just the way it is. Delicious. Have made it several times. Great in the winter. I make my own crust.
My family loves this - I do agree, it is a little bland, but we added Worcestershire sauce and sometimes change the veggies to whatever we have on hand. Leftover gravy works great and I've even used leftover pot roast in place of the ground beef. This is one thing my picky kids ask for at least once a month
Very tasty and easy to make!
It took a lot of adjusting and throwing extra stuff in to make this one really tasty. The original recipe is a little bland. Took lots of salt and pepper to spice it up a little. Also added lots more veggies. I think next time i'll add some beef broth to give it a little more flavor, and it will be perfect.
This was really good - my kids really like it - it's a little plain - add some Worcestershire sauce and it adds some flavor - but this is easy and kid friendly
I thought it was GROSS and waaaaay too dry!
This was easy to make and tasted great. I used greenbeans instead of carrots. This became my husbands number one favorite meal.
Delicious... needs salt and pepper though.
This one is a winner, everyone loved it. I had left over gravy from a roast and this was a perfect way to use it up, and the flavour was fantastic. Will be making this again!!!
We love this recipe! And it's so easy that typically my husband is the one who makes it. The only change that we've made is to use a frozen peas and carrots blend instead of just carrots. Tasty!
This was great easy to make and I had no left overs!!
