Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup walnut halves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Store bought tart shells (usually sold in packets of 24)
  • honey

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

First candy the walnuts (can be done 1 week ahead). Combine the walnuts, sugar and water in a saucepan. Let boil, and stir until the sugar dissolves. Lower the heat and let cook five more minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a pie plate, sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 9 minutes until lightly caramelized. Let cool.

Fill store bought tart shells with a teaspoon of creamy Stilton cheese, quartered fresh figs and the candied walnuts. Drizzle with honey.
