Ingredients

  • 1 10 oz package of frozen peas and carrots
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup butter or margerine
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon instant bouillion granules
  • 1/4 cup chopped pimento
  • 3 cups cubed, cooked chicken
  • 1/4 cup snipped parsley
  • Single pie crust

Preparation

Step 1

In a sauce pan cook onions and mushrooms until tender but not brown. Stir in flour, salt, sage and pepper. Let cook for 1-2 minutes. Add water, milk and chicken granules. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1-2 minutes more. Stir in chicken, pimento, parsley and vegetables. Turn into a casserole dish and top with pastry. Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes or until crust is golden brown and delicious
