Sweet & Smoky Grilled Corn on the Cob

Ingredients

  • 8 ears of corn
  • 1/2 c (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1/2 t seasoning salt
  • 1/2 t Cajun seasoning
  • 1-2 t Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1/4 t fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/4 t basil
  • Pinch of hickory or applewood smoked salt

Preparation

Step 1

Remove outside leaves from husk. Place corn in lg bowl & fill with water to cover corn. Be sure corn is submerged & soak overnight. Pour out water & shake off excess water from corn.

Peel back husk leaving husk on about 2-3 in on bottom of the corn. Remove the silk. Combine butter & remaining ingredients into bowl. Place husk back onto corn. Gather husk at tip of corn. Use piece of fallen husk to knot around tip of corn. This will hold husk in place as corn cooks.

Place on oiled grill over med meat. Cook for 20-30 min, turning every 5-10 min. Remove from heat & enjoy. Corn will be very hot.

Note: can adjust seasoning to your taste.
