Grandma Gloria's Corn Bread Stuffing

A long time family favorite, no matter how much she makes there's never enough. It's great the next day reheated with a little gravy on top

Ingredients

  • 3 bags (24 oz size) of corn bread stuffing mix
  • 2.25 c. butter
  • 5 c. celery, chopped
  • 6 medium onions, chopped
  • 4 green peppers, chopped
  • 0.5 lb spicy italian sausage
  • 0.5 lbs sweet italian sausage
  • 3 cups pine nuts, lightly toasted
  • 4 cans water chestnuts, chopped
  • Giblets, chopped
  • 9 c. stock
  • 6 eggs, lightly beaten

Preparation

Step 1

Saute celery, onion, sausage & bell peppers in butter. Add to stuffing mix with stock and beaten eggs, giblets, pine nuts and water chestnuts.

Stuff bird lightly since this stuffing expands


Extra casseroles. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 - 40 minuts
