Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 sticks butter, brought to room temp
- 1 c. super-fine sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 T. fresh lemon juice
- zest of 2 lemons

Preparation
Step 1
1. Sift the first four ingredients
2. In another bowl, combine remaining ingredients
3. Beat in dry ingredients until blended
4. Chill overnight
5. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
6. Form dough into 3/4" balls
7. Place them 3" apart on a lightly oiled cookie sheet or parchment
8. Wet a light (cheese) cloth and wrap it around the bottom of a glass
9. Dip the cloth/glass in fine sugar and press the balls down to flat
10. Bake 7 minutes
