Ingredients

  • "A" Marinating meat:
  • 1 lb. lean pork, sliced in 1/8" x 1" strips
  • 4-6 oz. Italian hot peppers, seeded and sliced thin
  • 8 oz. cabbage, slice thin
  • 2 T. soy sauce, 2 T. water, 4 tsp. dry sherry, 2 tsp. cornstarch, 1/8 tsp. 5-spice powder
  • "B" for cabbage and pepper:
  • 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 T. water
  • "C" Final sauce:
  • 2 T. soy sauce, 1 tsp. sugar
  • Cornstarch mixture:
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch, 1 T. cold water

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat 2. T. oil to very hot on 2nd high heat, add cabbage and pepper, stir a few times and add "B", stir cook about 2 minutes, remove to a bowl.

2. Heat 2 T. oil to very hot on 2nd high heat, add meat, stir fry 2 minutes,add cabbage, pepper and "C", cook 3 minutes and season to taste.

3. Add cornstarch mixture and stir until thickened.
