Ingredients
- 1/4 C water
- 1 C sugar
- 2/3 C heavy cream
- 1/4 C (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- 3 T honey
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 C walnuts (10 oz)
- 2 oz bittersweet chocolate
Preparation
Step 1
1. In heavy saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Boil syrup without stirring until golden. Remove from heat; carefully add cream. Return to heat. Add butter, honey and salt and stir until smooth. Add nuts and simmer over med. heat five minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, roll half recipe of pate sucree into 9" tart pan. Chill 20-30 minutes.
Heat oven to 400. Fill shell and cover with top crust. Freeze for 20 minutes.
Bake on a cookie sheet until crust is golden, 25-30 minutes.
