Asian BBQ Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 pounds flank steak, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon hoison sauce
- 8 hoagie rolls

Step 1
1. Combine broth through pepper in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
2. Add onion and beef and return to boil.
3. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour 45 minutes, or until beef is tender, stirring occasionally.
4. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes.
5. Transfer beef to cutting board, reserving cooking liquid.
6. Shred beef and return to cooking liquid.
7. Stir in hoison sauce.
8. Bring the mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated.
9. Remove from heat; serve over rolls.
