Texas Pecan Pie

  • pie crust (9 inch), prebaked
  • Filling
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark Karo Syrup
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla



Step 1

Preheat oven to 400F. Sprinle pecan halves into prepared shell. Beat eggs with salt until thick and creamy. Gradually ass the sugar and beat until well blended. Add syrup, melted butter and vanilla. Pour mixture over pecans. The pecans will rise to the top and when baked will be beautifully glazed. Bake at 400F for about 10 minutes; reduce heat to 325F, and continue to bake for 30 minutes longer. Serve at room temp.
