Crock Pot- Chicken in a Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 sliced carrots
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 2 celery stalks, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 whole fryer/broiler chicken, 3 to 4 lbs.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp basil

Preparation

Step 1

Put carrots, onions & celery in bottom of stoneware. Add whole chicken. Top with salt, pepper & liquid. Sprinkle basil over the top. Cover & cook on Low 10 hours/ High 6 hours, using 1 cup water. remove chicken & vegetables with spatula.
