Easy Flan 0 Picture


  • 6 eggs
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 26 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Caramel
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 TBS corn syrup



Step 1

Preheat oven to 325F. Meanwhile, combine 1 cup sugar and 1/3 cup water in another heavy medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to high and cook without stirring until syrup turns deep amber, brushing down sides of pan with wet pastry brush and swirling pan occasionally, about 10 minutes. Quickly pour caramel into six 3/4-cup ramekins or custard cups. Using oven mitts as aid, immediately tilt each ramekin to coat sides. Set ramekins into 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Coat pan with caramel. Mix eggs together. Mix in the milks then slowly mix in the 1/2 cup sugar, then vanilla. Blend smoothly after each addition. Pour custard into the caramel coated pan. Place pan in a large glass or ceramic baking dish and fill with about 1-2 inches of hot water. Bake for 45 minutes for ramekins (1hr 15 min for bundt pan). Remove and let cool in refrigerator for 1 hr. Invert.
