Cream Scones for Strawberry Shortcake

  • 6 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, cold
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream



Step 1

Stir just until combined, don't overmix. Knead dough gently on lightly floured surface. Roll or pat dough out to 1.5 inches thick. Then cut with biscuit cutter. Place the rounds on baking sheets spacing a few inches apart. Brush tops with cream and sprinkle w/turbinado sugar. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until nicely browned and a toothpick comes out clean.
