Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup water, warm
- 4 1/2 teaspoons yeast
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 8 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Filling
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 8 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
- butter, melted
Preparation
Step 1
1. Scald milk, let cool. Dissolve yeast in water and set aside until frothy.
2. Mix in eggs, sugar, butter and salt. Stir in cooled milk. Add the flour gradually to make a stiff dough.
3. Knead and rise until doubled.
4. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Moisten w/2TBS. milk. Mix suage and cinnamon together and spread on dough. Roll up tightly; should be 3" in diameter. Cut into 3rds and tuck under ends. Place dough in well greased bread pans. Lightly grease tops , let rise 1 hr.
5. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes. Brush with melted butter.
