Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Lb Cod Fillets, Cubed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat overn to 375F

Place cod in breased 9x9 baking dish or individual dishes

In heavy sauce pan melt butter, stir in flour until smooth

Remove from heat and gradually stir in 1/2 of the milk.

Return to heat and beat until smooth & shiny

Gradually add the remaining milk, salt, Pepper & Onion

Cook stirring, until smooth & thickened

Pour sauce over fish & sprinkle with breadcrumbs and cheese

Bake in 375F for 15-30 minutes until bubbly.
