Tomato Chili Sauce

This is like a relish that can be used on hamburgers, hot dogs, eggs and other meat. Especially good with pork. I halved the recipe and it made 12 8 oz jars.

Ingredients

    large tomatoes (approximately)

  • 2

    cups vinegar

  • 2-3

    cups sugar

  • 1/3

    cup salt

  • 1.5

    cups chopped celery

  • 4-5

    onions chopped

  • 2

    green peppers chopped

  • 2

    red peppers chopped

  • 3

    tsp cinnamon

  • 2

    tsp cloves

  • 3

    tsp allspice

Directions

In a large pot of boiling water blanch tomatoes. Drain, peel and chop. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 hours. Put in jars and seal.
