Easy, Light Bread Machine Rolls
By Addie
This will make 6 large sub rolls or 8-10 dinner rolls. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Ingredients
- 1 egg plus enough water to equal 3/4 cup
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 cups bread flour (I use Gold Medal bread flour)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon yeast
Preparation
Step 1
1. Place ingredients in bread machine pan according to your bread machine directions.
2. When done place on floured surface, cover and let rest about 10 mins. Divide dough into desired size and shapes. Place 1/2" apart, cover for 30 mins or till doubled.
3. Brush w/egg wash if desired and sprinkle w/poppy or sesame seeds or topping of your choice. Bake 20-30 mins.
NOTES:
I forgot to mention in the recipe that I always sprinkle corn meal on the cookie sheet the rolls rise on and then I preheat my baking stone in the oven and place the rolls on the hot stone for baking. I prefer the stone as it seems to make the rolls crisper.
