EMPIRE BISCUITS

  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1 tsp. Cream of tartar

Preparation

Step 1

1/4 lb butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
½ tsp. Baking soda
1 tsp. Cream of tartar

Beat together butter, sugar and egg. Add flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Knead lightly. Roll out on a floured board to 1/4" thickness. Cut in circles and bake at 375 degrees until very lightly browned.

Put together with raspberry jam. Ice with icing made with confectioners sugar and water. Top each biscuit with half a cherry.
