Sausages with Rice and Vegetables
If desired, you may substitute precooked Polish sausages, bratwurst or dinner franks for the Italian sausages.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. precooked Italian-style sausages
- 6 tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 c. quick brown rice
- 1 green or red bell pepper, seeded and sliced
- 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen Italian-style green beans, thawed
- 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) beef broth
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
Step 1
Brown the sausages in the butter using a heavy shallow pan with a tight-fitting lid. Remove sausages from pan and keep warm. Add onion, rice and pepper. Sauté for 2 to 3 min. over high heat, stirring, until onion is tender but not browned. Add green beans, beef broth and water. Top with sausages. Cover and heat to simmering. Cook 15 to 20 min. or until liquid is almost all absorbed. Transfer to serving platter. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
