MICHIGAN ROCKS

By

This is a recipe from Bob McLaughlin, an attorney I used to work with. His wife, Helene, would make these for the office at Christmas. He called them Mrs. Flanagan's Michigan Rocks. They are FANTASTIC!! I tried to make them once, but forgot to put in the flour... didn't work out too well :-0

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 eggs, beaten slightly
  • 3/4 lb. chopped dates
  • 1/2 lb. English walnuts, chopped (more or less to taste)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in a little water
