Ingredients
- Glaze:
- 1 cup margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tea. almond extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tea. salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (8 oz) can whole cranberry sauce
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/2 tea. almond extract
Preparation
Step 1
Cream margarine and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
Alternately add almond extract, flour, baking powder and salt with sour cream to egg mixture.
Pour batter into greased 9x13 baking pan. Spoon cranberry sauce over batter. Sprinkle with almonds.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
Prepare glaze by blending powdered sugar, milk and almond extract. Drizzle glaze over warm coffee cake.
