Chocolate Syrup Brownies

If you wish you may substitute raisins, shredded coconut or crushed cornflakes for the nuts.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. canned chocolate-flavored syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts or other nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together butter, sugar and eggs until well blended. Stir in flour, chocolate syrup, vanilla and nuts. Turn into greased and lightly floured 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 40 min. or until tester inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into 16 squares. Remove from pan and store airtight.
