Ingredients
- 7 cups all purpose flour
- 5 1/3 teaspoons baking soda
- 3 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 7 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 3/4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 5 1/3 cups soft shortening
- 9 1/3 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 14 eggs
- 7 teaspoons vanilla
- 14 cups old-fashioned oats (uncooked)
- 7 cups raisins
Preparation
Step 1
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg into bowl. Add shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth (2 minutes). Stir in oats and raisins. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
